Projects
Concord to Sacramento Pipeline Project
Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP of Houston
is building a $88 million project to expand its products pipeline system between
Sacramento and Concord.
The project is expected to be in service by year-end and will help meet growing
demand for gasoline, jet fuel an diesel in Nevada and Northern California.
This new 70-mile, 20-inch underground pipeline, will meet the growing demand
for fuel and consequently retire the existing pipeline, which has been riddled
with problems. Guida was awarded the surveying contract for the project by
ARB, Inc.
Santa Ana River Channel Scour Studies
Guida conducted scour studies and a field survey extending from Weir
Canyon Road to Prado Dam. The scour study surveys were required to
provide the annual scour and sediment information necessary for flood
control and public works operations to determine the volume of sediment
for removal or the amount of scour for dirt replacement. The cross
sections for this study included shots at all breaks, hinge points,
grade lines, far edge of levee or levee road, levee high point, levee
low point, flow line and approximate centerline of channel from right-of-way
to right-of-way. Guida also provided ASCII files of northing, easting
and elevations in the same format as required. In addition, we provided
editing of data collector files, translation into the correct format
and creation of computer programs to automate this effort.
Moreno, Lakeside Pipeline
The construction of a 4.7-mile
long pipeline began fall 2002 and was completed in the fourth quarter
of 2004. The pipeline will ensure the water authority can supply
up to 80 million gallons per day of untreated water to the RM Levy
Water Treatment Plant. Out of the 80 million gallons a day, 40 will
be used by Helix Water District and 8 million.
